Keanu Reeves told the press that his A Scanner Darkly co-star Winona Ryder skipped the Cannes film fest because she can't get past the embarrassment of her shoplifting conviction four years ago. "Robert [Downey Jr.] and I were speaking of how we miss her and wish she was here because she's such a delightful person and really good actress," said Reeves. "But for her to be here and have to deal with all these other kinds of questions - I don't know if she's quite ready to do that."

Lindsay denies shopping addiction

Lindsay Lohan has denied reports that she is being treated for a shopping addiction. The Just My Luck star is alleged to be undergoing hypnotherapy to help her curb the habit and has reportedly been known to spend up to $100,000 in one day. "Her closets are overflowing with things like $8000 Prada dresses and $2000 Balenciaga bags," her stylist, Rachel Zoe, recently told Life + Style magazine. "She has so many clothes, she never even wears some of them!" Lohan has slammed the reports, and her publicist says, "That is just a bunch of crap. There's no hypnotist. And Lindsay loves clothes, but the idea that she spent that much last year is completely stupid."

Nick's new girl

Nick Lachey has been quietly dating stylist Kim Kardashian for about a month, according to People.com. "They're sweet on each other. It's the beginning stages of a relationship," a source told the mag. The two have been spotted getting cosy at a nightclub in Hollywood and were more recently seen leaving an LA theater after seeing The Da Vinci Code. "Part of their attraction to each other is they both have gone through similar life situations," the source added. "They developed a bond. For Nick to settle down again it will take someone who is a lifelong partner." Kardashian, the daughter of O.J. Simpson's lawyer Robert Kardashian, divorced her music producer husband in 2004.
