
Tom Cruise has reportedly signed on to enter the restaurant business, with plans to open a sushi restaurant on Melrose Avenue in LA with Disney CEO Michael Ovitz.

Friends star Matt LeBlanc has filed for divorce from wife Melissa after nearly three years of marriage. Divorce papers were filed in LA on Thursday, citing "irreconcilable differences," and state that the couple split on January 1 of this year. A statement issued on the couple's behalf said, "Melissa and Matt LeBlanc have decided to end their marriage of three years. The dissolution is amicable. They remain devoted parents and friends. For the sake of their family, they ask that their privacy be respected at this time." The pair have a two-year-old daughter who suffers from a rare brain disorder, and Matt is stepfather to Melissa's two children from a previous marriage. In 2005, the star issued a public apology to his wife after getting "carried away" at a strip club during a motorbike trip to Canada, saying, "I acted like a fool in allowing myself to be led astray and placed in such a horrible situation. I feel ashamed."

For those of us waiting with baited breath for the release of Justin Timberlake's film Alpha Dog, the wait might just be a little longer. Jesse James Hollywood, on whose kidnap and murder case the film is based, claims the film will prejudice his upcoming trial for the abduction and murder of a teenager over an alleged drug debt. Lawyers are trying to block the film from being distributed and have asked that the Santa Barbara district attorney's office be removed from the case as result of their cooperation with filmmakers. Jesse James Hollywood went missing in 2000, and production on the movie was complete some time after that, but the film's script had to be rewritten when Hollywood was arrested in Brazil in 2005 after lawyers advised that names be changed.
