View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck is being stalked by an anonymous caller, who has been making false accusations about the former Survivor and her husband, football player Tim Hasselbeck and their one-year-old daughter. The caller, a woman with a Southern accent, has been phoning child protective services authorities in New York and making allegations about the Hasselbecks without identifying herself. "This is a malicious attempt to harass our family," the Hasselbecks have told the media. "These allegations have been fully reviewed by child protective authorities and medical professionals and found to be absolutely false. This matter has been turned over to the District Attorney's office for prosecution of the individual(s) responsible for the false accusation." View boss Barbara Walters voiced her support for Hasselbeck and speculated that the accuser "might be somebody who doesn't like her politics or maybe somebody who's crazy or maybe somebody who wants the baby."
