
Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown had hopes of making it as a pop star before he became a writer. Brown moved to LA in the early 90s, looking to break into the music scene with his Barry Manilow-style songs, but realized he didn't fit it. "Do I really look like someone cut out for MTV? The world isn't ready for a pale, balding geek shaking his booty - not a pretty picture," the best-selling author said.
