He has had a difficult childhood and he engaged in drugs in his teens. His life took different take after his marriage to Lori. He started as a salesman job.
During a visit to los angels he happened to meet actor Nicholas Cage. He took up acting after Nicholas Cage Persuade him to become an actor. His first movie was a low budget horror flick, Debut. His first success came with the movie21 jump street. Since then Johnny Depp has been doing very different roles. He is often taken as a flamboyant personality, and often found in all the wrong situations, accused for selling drugs in his club, fighting with photographers and the list is endless. But these things are blown out of the proportion if a celebrity like him is around. Most of all he is a good actor, hugely famous for his role of Captain Jack Sparrow in The Pirates of Caribbean series.

Depp has been nominated for three Academy Awards and has won Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards.

I first saw him in movie the broken arrow as a kid, did not like him. Obviously, John Travolta was the bad guy in that movie. Later on I happened to watch few more flicks of John Travolta and started to like him. He is good actor, singer, and dancer. All of above I am fan of his Joie de vivre nature. He is always remains full of energy and very enthusiastic. Watch his earlier blockbusters like Saturday Night Fever and Grease, and you would definitely agree with my point of view.

Though his career was highly instable in 8o's but he was never out from the minds of his fans. His Career saw a series of disastrous movies like Staying Alive, Perfect, and Two of a Kind. Critics Suggested that he is typecast as a disco stud and not proving anything new to the audience.

His career catapulted in 90's. He received an Academy Award nomination for his role of Vincent Vega in Quentin Tarantino's hit Pulp Fiction (1994).This movie helped him largely to get him back in the frontline. Few of other noted films he has done after that are Get Shorty, Face/Off, A Civil Action, The General's Daughter and recent one is Wild Hogs which was released in 2007.Travolta played Edna Turnblad in the remake of Hairspray, his first musical since Grease, Which got him The Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor - Motion Picture and Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. His most recent film is the lead voice role of the Disney film Bolt (2008).Old Dogs is soon to be released. Can’t wait to see him in an action flick.

Johnny Depp's first major role was in the horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street, of the year 1994. His role was of the heroine's boyfriend and one of Freddy's victims. In 1986, Johnny Depp appeared in a secondary role as a Vietnamese-speaking private in Oliver Stone's Platoon. Finally in 1990 Depp got relieved from his teen idol image when he played the quirky title role in Edward Scissorhands, a Tim Burton film. The film was a huge success and from here Depp's association with Burton also reached great heights. Johnny Depp's dream came true when he got an opportunity to play a version of his idol and long-time friend writer Hunter S. Thompson, named Raoul Duke in 1998's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. The movie was based on the writer's pseudobiographical novel of the same name. Johnny Depp has also also accompanied Thompson as his road manager on one of the author's last book's tours.

In 2006, Johnny Depp contributed a personal foreword to Hunter S.Thompson's book Gonzo. Gonzo is a posthumous visual biography of the writer's legacy published by ammobooks.com. Johnny Depp paid for most of Thompson's memorial events, complete with fireworks and the shooting of Thompson's ashes by a cannon, in Aspen, Colorado, where Thompson lived. Johnny Depp's characters he portrays in films have been described by the press as "iconic loners," and Depp has noted that this period of his career was full of "studio defined failures" and films that were "box office poison,". He said that he believes film studios never "understood" the films he appeared in and did not know how to market them properly. Depp also believes in doing those films that he found personally interesting, and not those he thought would succeed at the box office.

Johnny Depp made a mark as a major star with the success of the 2003 Walt Disney Pictures film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. His lead performance as the suave pirate Captain Jack Sparrow, in the film was highly praised. Initially his role received negative responses by the studio bosses who saw the film, but the character became popular when the movie released in public. Depp was also considered to be one of the main reasons audiences wanted to see the movie. Depp told the press that he modeled the character after Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards. Johnny Depp again appeared as Jack sparrow in the sequel of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, which was released on July 7, 2006 and grossed $135.5 million in the first three days of its U.S. release, breaking a box office record in reaching the highest weekend tally ever. The next sequel to Pirates of the Caribbean, At World's End, was released on May 24, 2007. Depp once mentioned that he has an attachment to his Captain Jack Sparrow character, specifying that Sparrow is "definitely a big part of me", and expressing his desire to portray the character in further sequels. Johnny Depp has even given voice to Sparrow in the video game, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow.

Johnny Depp together with Gore Verbinski is executive producer of the album Rogues Gallery, Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys. Johnny Depp also played the title role of Sweeney Todd in Tim Burton's film adaptation of the musical Sweeney Todd. For this role he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. As a child, Johnny Depp was obsessed with Dark Shadows which is a gothic-themed soap opera that was aired on ABC from 1966 to 1971. Due to this reason he accepted Warner Brothers proposal to make a film version of the this show and in July 2007, a rights deal was signed with Dan Curtis, the show's producer/director.

Depp's production company has also got the rights to the story of poisoned former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko. Johnny Depp has also signed a movie named The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, where he will be playing one incarnation of the Heath Ledger character, along with Jude Law and Colin Farrell. All these three actors gave their salaries from the film to Ledger's daughter, Matilda. His upcoming movies are Burton's Alice in Wonderland , where he will portray the Mad Hatter and a fourth sequel of the Pirates series in which Depp would reprise his Captain Jack Sparrow role.

The role was without dialogues but Clooney had to imitate normal dog noises.

But in spite of working together the South Park show's creators, Parker and Stone, made fun of Clooney for his outspoken political views in their feature film Team America: World Police. He was also made fun of in the episode "Smug Alert!", that referred to his acceptance speech at the 78th Academy Awards. All these things were ignored by George Clooney.

Brad Pitt had to wear a pair of green contact lenses and vampire fangs in addition to the make up to complete the appearance. His performance in this movie earned him two awards at the 1995 MTV Movie Awards in the categories of Best Male Performance and Most Desirable Male.

In 1994 and 1995 Brad Pitt starred in Legends of the Fall and Se7en. In the former movie Brad Pitt starred along with Anthony Hopkins, Julia Ormond, and Aidan Quinn. For his performance in the movie Brad Pitt earned his first Golden Globe Award nomination in the category for Best Performance. In 1995 Brad Pitt starred in Twelve Monkeys as Jefferey Goines. The movie was successful at the box office and Brad Pitt won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor, and received his first Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. In 1996 he appeared in a supporting role in the movie Sleepers. The film co-starred Kevin Bacon and Robert DeNiro.

In 1997 Brad Pitt appeared as the Irish Republican Army terrorist Rory Devany in The Devil's Own, along with Harrison Ford. That same year, he starred in Jean Jacques Annaud film Seven Years in Tibet in the main role of Austrian mountaineer Heinrich Harrer. He was trained in mountaineering for this role. After the release of this movie the Chinese Government banned Pitt and his co-star Thewlis from entering China for life. In 1998 Brad Pitt did a leading role in the movie, Meet Joe Black. The movie also starred actor Anthony Hopkins.
