Zooey Deschanel has landed the coveted lead role in an upcoming Janis Joplin biopic. Deschanel reportedly beat out Lindsay Lohan, Scarlett Johansson and Britney Spears for the part. The director's first choice for the part of Janis, Pink, pulled out of the project, claiming the casting process had been turned into "some circus pop contest - who's the 'it' girl who wants to play Janis.'"
