When Meg met Hollywood!

Meg Ryan – a short and simple name, right? Wrong because the original name is quite long and goes like Margaret Mary Emily Hyra. Just like her name, Meg has got a good long career graph in films. Meg is a hollywood actress who is known for her lead roles in the movies like When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, You've got mail etc. All these movies of her did a wonderful business in the world of cinema. Meg's bright, attractive, big blue eyes let her express the way she wants and the innocence on her face is something that draws millions of fans behind her.



Meg Ryan is the daughter of Susan Hyra Jordan who is a former actress, casting director and an English teacher and Harry Hyra, a math teacher. Meg was born on November 19, 1961 in Connecticut. When Meg was 18 years old, her mother helped her to get first commercial which involved the chin-ups and giggling to promote the Tickle deodorant.

The first full- blown hit of Meg was “ When Harry Met Sally” which was a romantic comedy. In that movie she worked with the known Hollywood actor Billy Crystal. She earned a Golden Globe nomination for that. Some of the other hit movies of Ryan include The Doors, Prelude to a kiss, Courage under fire, When a man loves a woman, City of angels etc.

Jodie Foster

Many of you must be unknown by the fact that Jodie Foster has got another name also called Alicia Christian Foster. Jodie is a popularly hit hollywood actress and was born on November 19, 1962. She is a successful American actress, film director and producer.



She is the daughter of Evelyn 'Brandy' Ella and Lucius Fisher Foster III. Her father was a Lieutenant colonel in Air-force but he later on turned a real estate broker. Her hather who hailed from a wealthy background left his wife before Jodie was born. Her mother who was a film producer supported the family.

Jodie started her on-screen career when she was hardly three years old. At that time she used to work in the commercials. Her first big break in hollywood came when she acted as a preteen prostitute in “Taxi driver” which was a hit movie of 1976. for this role she was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Some of the other successful movies of Jodie include The Silence of the Lambs, The Accused, Nell, Maverick, Contact, Panic room, Flight Plan etc. Nim's Island was her movie released in 2008.

Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey, arguably the most paid comedian in Hollywood, junior most member of his Canada based family. His father was a musician and accountant. He was a performer from a very young age. he had to work extremely hard to earn bread and shelter for his family during his school days He moved to LA in 1979 to test his luck as an actor and comedian. he made extremely good impression on Rodney Dangerfield that this veteran comic signed him and he got an opportunity to do an opening act for an entire season. His next sitcom “The Duck Factory" went miserably flop. He got himself some acclaim in the comedy “In Living Color". His true stardom came through his 1994 movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
Though he was not appreciated much by the critics but it was a commercial hit. Later on he worked on the sequel Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995).Same year Jim Carrey was casted as a riddle in the movie Batman Forever. Earlier, in 1994 his movie Dumb and Dumber and The Mask fetched him multi million bucks. He was paid a record 20 million (for a comic role) for his next comedy The Cable Guy.
