Dare Yourself

I love this quote and after chatting with a friend today I thought it was perfect to post.  I dare you to dare yourself to do something out of the ordinary this week.  Do something you have been wanting to do for sometime.  Find the courage and just do it.  I am going to...

Colin Farrell-Quotes

Colin FarrellSome quotes from Colin Farrell:

  • Being Irish is very much a part of who I am. I take it everywhere with me.
  • I think I was 8 or 9 when I had a fucking mad thing for Marilyn Monroe. I used to leave Smarties, the Irish equivalent of M&M's, under my pillow with a little note saying, 'I know you're dead, but these are very fucking tasty, and you should come have a few. I won't tell anyone.'
  • "I couldn't care less about who sees my bits ... My friends asked how I could do scenes like that and not get excited, but it wasn't like that. My bits looked the size of a cashew nut!" on appearing nude in Tigerland (2000).
  • On physical training for film roles he said, "I find it the most tedious waste of life. It's so boring. I'd prefer to be sitting in a pub with a few strangers talking' shit than looking at myself in the mirror running' on the treadmill."
  • It all goes back to [Joel Schumacher]. I wouldn't have done Phone Booth (2002) without him. I wouldn't be doing Hart's War (2002). I probably wouldn't have done American Outlaws (2001) if he hadn't picked me out of obscurity. I've worked, but not at the level or people I'm working with now if he hadn't taken a chance on an Irish kid playing a Texan.
    Colin Farrell
  • On the girl that will interest him he said, "The usual obvious bullshit. Sense of humour, a bit of danger, good fun. A good heart is a really sexy thing. All women have the potential to be sexy and it's nothing to do with the dress someone wears or the make-up they put on their face, it's the aged-old cliché saying: 'What comes from inside'. God, I've met gorgeous women who I'd fancy and give one to, but at the end of the day they're not particularly sexy because they haven't got much going inside and they are too concerned with themselves. And then I've met women who wouldn't be as nearly as attractive and, because of the sense of fun they have and their joi de vivre, as they say, they'd be much sexier and you'd fall for them in a nanosecond."
  • I'm in no hurry to get anywhere. I don't have any plans. I don't have a map. If you did in this business, you'd destroy yourself.
  • On Hollywood: "I'm not seduced by it all. I swear to God. I'm easily pleased, yeah. Don't get me wrong, I'll indulge in it. I'll be in Los Angeles for two weeks and I'll have a laugh, get battered and have a buzz, but at the end of the day, I'll go home. It's just me earning a few more stories to tell everyone at home and all."
    Colin Farrell
  • "Anything I am and anything I hope to be, I have my mom to thank."
  • I do have the ability to explore life and to be over the moon at the smallest thing - a few pints and a craic in the pub and I'm in heaven. But I have a melancholy side to me as well. Acting allows me to feel things, it kind of buys me human experience. And I don't mean this as acting as higher cause, because it's not, but it does kind of have a higher awareness emotionally.
  • I work my arse off. I'm never late, ask anyone. I'm only 27. I don't feel like a big star. I feel neither the pressure nor the grandeur of my situation, you know. I think I'm still trying to find my feet as an actor. And I know it ain't brain surgery, but it confuses me and it comes between me and my sleep a lot.
  • I'm just a true Irish boy at heart. I'm just myself, I stick by my guns and I treat people the way I think they should be treated, regardless of their status. And I just have a laugh.
    Colin Farrell
  • I get no kicks from going to the gym. It doesn't do it for me. Never has. Some people enjoy working out. But that's never done it for me. In the past, I'd breathe in heavily between takes. I sucked it in and did a take. That way it doesn't hurt the beer consumption at all.
  • "It kind of went downhill, I was smoking a bit of reef. You know, you roll your first joint, drink your first beer and discover the girls and, well, that was it. I loved football, but I couldn't make the training any more" - on his football aspirations as a youth
  • When asked what he feels about people who drink tequila he said, "I tell them, 'When you're at home puking your guts out, I'll be here drinking my Amstel Light.'"

Brad Pitt Quotes

Some Quotes from Brad Pitt are as follows:-
  • Brad Pitt quoted in the US Weekly on 18th September 2000, "Being married means I can break wind and eat ice cream in bed."
    Brad Pitt
  • "I'm gonna design my own fleet of trailers. No! I'm gonna record an album like Jennifer Lopez. It'll be an acoustic version of KC & The Sunshine Band. Then maybe I'll design a line of clothes like but all in synthetic fur."
  • "I'd like to design something like a city or a museum. I want to do something hands on rather than just play golf which is the sport of the religious right."
  • For Viasat magazine issue of 1st May Brad Pitt quoted "Fame is a bitch, man."
  • When asked about what keeps him humble Brad Pitt said-
You know, I telephoned my grandparents the other day, and my grandfather said to me, "We saw your movie." "Which one?" I said, and he shouted, "Betty, what was the name of that movie I didn't like?" I thought that was just classic. I mean, if that doesn't keep your feet on the ground, what would?
    Brad Pitt
  • "I'm one of those people you hate because of genetics. It's the truth."
  • "Success is a beast. And it actually puts the emphasis on the wrong thing. You get away with more instead of looking within."
  • On 13th October 1997 for the Time magazine Brad Pitt quoted-
"You shouldn't speak until you know what you're talking about. That's why I get uncomfortable with interviews. Reporters ask me what I feel China should do about Tibet. Who cares what I think China should do? I'm a f---ing actor! They hand me a script. I act. I'm here for entertainment. Basically, when you whittle everything away, I'm a grown man who puts on makeup."
    Brad Pitt
  • "When you see a person, do you just concentrate on their looks? It's just a first impression. Then there's someone who doesn't catch your eye immediately, but you talk to them and they become the most beautiful thing in the world. The greatest actors aren't what you would call beautiful sex symbols. I'll tell you who my favorite actress is, Dianne Wiest, and you wouldn't call her a sex symbol. Dianne Wiest is, to me, the most beautiful woman on the screen."
  • When Conan O'Brien asked Brad Pitt how he got into character as stoner Floyd in True Romance(1993) he said, "I'm a method actor."
  • In May, 2005 on Brad Pitt's divorce to Jennifer Aniston he said,"The thing I don't understand is looking at this as a failure. It's talked about like it failed, I guess because it wasn't flawless. Me, I embrace the messiness of life. I find it so beautiful, actually."
    Brad Pitt
  • In 2003 Brad Pitt Quoted "It's amazing what an impending midlife crisis will do for you, really. It got me motivated, having turned 40 in December."
  • After having children Brad Pitt quoted "It really changes your perspective on the world. You know, I've had my day. I made some films, and I've really had a very fortunate life, and it's time for me to share that a little bit. Having children takes the focus off yourself, which I'm really grateful for. I'm so tired of thinking about myself. I'm sick of myself. You feel you want to be there and not miss out on anything. It's a true joy and a very profound love. You can write a book, you can make a movie, you can paint a painting, but having kids is the most extraordinary thing I've ever taken on."
    Brad Pitt
  • When Brad Pitt was asked how his children will influence his future roles he said,"My thoughts these days are, "Oh, my God, what did I do? What are they going to see from the past?" It definitely colors what I'll approach in the future. I'll try to be a little bit more mature about my decisions."
  • Once Brad Pitt was asked how his earlier lesser film roles ultimately improved him as an actor and he replied "I believe I'm quite capable and we, as people, can learn to do anything, and that's proof of it! And my education is on film, on record! Now I can take on anything that comes my way and find truth in it an do a pretty good job."

There Are No Rules...

I know Drew Barrymore's Flower Films 'un-offices' (decorated by Ruthie Sommers) have been featured by lots of other bloggers over the last couple of weeks but I just had to post this little snippet of the article which I loved...

When asked about her favorite piece in the office, Barrymore says, "I believe you can combine anything. I feel there are no rules."

Definitely a woman after my own heart!!

Friendship

"Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend." - Albert Camus

This is one of my favourite quotes by Albert Camus. Friendship, to me, is one of the most important things in life. I can count my dearest friends all on one hand. I don't need lots of friends. I just need the few very special ones I do have. Thank you my nearest and dearest for your loving friendship. You are all so special to me!

XO
Anna
